Will Campbell

“Driver #34”

2004 was the second full year of oval track racing for Will, and he found the racing a little harder than the year before.  This year a lack of consistency, in engines, driving and setup, combined to keep him from winning the Masters division at the Old Dominion Speedway, though he was the highest-placing Golden Master driver at ODS.  He missed one race to work commitments, and was wrecked out of two, one of them before passing the green flag.  Congrats to Mike Collier who won Masters at ODS in 2004 by consistently being fast and avoiding wrecks!  Mike is a great competitor who races clean, and often runs with the lead pack.

2004 was also the year we got in our first road race in a Legends car at Summit Point Raceway, and that was a lot of fun.  Look for Will to race at more road courses this year, including a trip to Sebring early in the year.  We need a lot of practice turning right, but braking seems to be a strength as do some of the high-speed turns.

What is in store for 2005?  Well, no one can predict the future, but expect to see more road races, perhaps a dirt race or two, and a few short-track races in other tracks this year, including Lake Erie and the new Shenadoah Speedway when it opens this summer. 2005 opens with a full seasons experience under our belts, a seasoned crew chief in Dave Campbell, a newly refurbished car for 2005, and our engine problems sorted—so we plan to be a force this year.

Legends cars are a great way to go racing for the drivers, and they are spectacular to watch as the racing is fast and ferocious! Check out our updated schedule on the web site as our plans firm up and plan to see Will at the races!

Just look for the Fastest Cow in the track!
